Organized by the Ministry of overseas Indian Affairs and FICCI, Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is an annual event organized to recognize the contributions of Indian Diaspora. The event is held every year in the month of January and is generally a three-day affair. Next Pravasi Bharatiya Divas will be held in the year 2008. The schedule of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2008 has already been chalked out to make it a successful event. The event will be held in New Delhi from January 7-9 and will be inaugurated by Dr. Manmohan Singh, the honorable Prime minister of India. The Valedictory session of the event would be addressed by the President of India, Mrs. Pratibha Patil.

Bringing the expertise and knowledge of the Indian Diaspora and integrating it with the development process of India would be the main aim of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2008. There would be a discussion on various topics with eminent speakers speaking on diverse issues.

Nearly 2000 delegates would attend the event from overseas. There would be discussions and speeches on various themes, interactive sessions with the state government, trade and industrial exhibitions and cultural shows and gala dinners making the event more interesting.
